Recent Infrastructural Development
The University is extremely keen on betterment of infrastructure to promote a more conducive academic environment. Major developmental works taken up during the 2008-2013 period:
At the Main Campus:
- Reconstruction of Gandhi Bhavan auditorium
- Composite Building for the Science Departments
- Composite Building for the Arts and Social Science Departments
- Teachers' Quarter
- Two floors of Rabindra Bhavan
- Officers' Quarter
- Thorough restructuring of Open Air Theatre
- Three floors of Subarna Jayanti Bhavan
- Toilet and ramp in sixteen buildings for physically challenged persons
- International Guest House at Padmapukur
- Sports Centre(work started)
- Technology Bhavan (under construction)
- Electrical revamping (work started)
- Construction of drinking water tanks
At the Saltlake Campus:
- Guest House for the Academic Staff College
- Artificial Rock
- Auditorium (work started)
At the West Annexe (NIL) Campus:
- Thorough renovation of two portions of the existing building
- Thorough renovation of sewer and drainage system
